About the role

If you are a Graduate Engineer and want to hit the ground running this is the role for you. If you want to leapfrog your uni peers and grow your knowledge exponentially onsite as part of a significant infrastructure construction project, then keep reading.

As a member of our project team you will be responsible for supporting the construction team and coordinating all Permit to Work activities to ensure the safe, timely and efficient preparation and execution of work activities for the project. Reporting into the Construction Manager you will also get exposure to the following engineering and construction aspects on the project:

  • Buried Pipeline
  • Structural Mechanical and Piping
  • Electrical, Instrumentation and Cathodic protection
  • Bulk earthworks and reinforced concrete

As an entry-level engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to learn on-the-job alongside a team of experienced construction professionals as part of a unique onshore pipeline project and brownfield facility upgrade works in Darwin. You will be supported by both the Construction and Safety Manager to build you knowledge in the construction and engineering domain AND your understanding of safety and the permit to work process in a brownfield environment. You will be responsible for the implementation of Nacap’s work health, safety and environmental policies and procedures on the project, and the single point of contact for all permit to work activities. As you grow into the role you will provide the up-front advice and support to users of the system and ensure necessary logistics for permits. You will lead daily permit to work coordination meetings, and coordinate and prioritise planned work activities. You will also keep the register up-to-date and be the key liaison point for client and project team members.

The beauty of this role is the exposure to the different facets of a large construction project on the ground. The role is site-based and as part of the construction team you will play a vital role in the project operations. You can be based in either Melbourne or Brisbane and FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out) to Darwin.
