Your new role
Are you looking to kick start your mining career at one of the largest and most modern Underground Stoping Operations in Australia? Well then, we are looking for you! As a Mining Graduate at Prominent Hill, you will be joining the team at a highly transformative time. With the recently announced approval of the $600M Wira Shaft Project and the accompanying mine expansion to 6Mtpa, Prominent Hill offers an exciting opportunity to begin your career with one of the most passionate teams in the industry.
This is a 2-year fixed-term adventure on 8 days on 6 days off roster onsite at Prominent Hill. During your program your mining career will be fast-tracked:
- You will be mentored by some incredibly experienced mining professionals. In our newly built Operations Hub, you will sit side by side with all teams from across the Prominent Hill Business exposing you to a wealth of knowledge from people from all walks of mining.
- Rotate through various technical disciplines as well as a structured 12-month underground rotation on the crew with our Alliance Partner gaining invaluable practical skills.
- See new leading technologies first-hand; We are early adopters of technology advancements for underground mining, demonstrated through the establishment of the Arkani Ngura test mine and our partnerships with innovative OEMs.
- Grow your professional network with opportunities to gain exposure throughout the broader OZ Minerals business and industry.
- Have fun whilst doing all of it. We believe the greatest teams that grow and learn the most are the ones that have fun whilst kicking goals
How will you add value
- Support safe production through the delivery of high-quality design work such as drill & blast and development plans
- Work closely with the Underground Operations Team including our alliance partners
- Conduct underground inspections and develop in-field leadership skills
- Contribute to risk management forums gaining valuable training and exposure
What you’ll bring
- A recently completed mining or civil engineering degree
- Initiative, drive, and a passion to deliver high-quality outcomes
- A mindset to question the status quo and look for innovative solutions beyond what is possible
- Safety focused attitude and a desire to learn and grow both personally and professionally
