The opportunity:

We are looking for a driven GIS Analyst graduate to join our water engineering team based in our Sydney office. You will join a team that works on water engineering projects, not only locally, but across Australia and the wider Asia Pacific region. You will work with a diverse client set from local government, industry, and private development. As a graduate, with 0 to 3 years of work experience, you will have many opportunities available to you by joining us at Stantec, including:

Key responsibilities

  • Facilitate and manage digital field data collection across multiple field teams
  • Produce high-quality cartographical figures for technical reports
  • Follow QA/QC procedures and maintain high standards of quality with all spatial data management and deliverables
  • Maintain and update GIS databases
  • Help develop geospatial knowledge and drive innovation within the business
  • Provide ad-hoc GIS support to Stantec staff
  • Demonstrable skills and experience using the ESRI software suite
  • Ability to work across multiple projects/teams simultaneously, maintaining client and staff relationships while delivering work effectively and within time and budget constraints
  • Efficient problem-solving skills and ability to work independently when required.

To be successful in the role you’ll have

Relevant tertiary qualification in a Spatial Science, such as GIS, Geomatics, Geography, or Geoscience

Desirable skills

  • Experience with ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro
  • Experience and/or knowledge of ESRI Portal and server-side ESRI administration
  • Experience with FME Desktop/Server
  • Scripting in Python and/or R 
  • Knowledge and/or interest in remote sensing and machine learning
