The coolest thing about my job is producing meaningful work and seeing the impact it has on other people. The people and the social network of graduates in the department are also great.
As a STEM Graduate, I am able to experience visits to impactful government institutions that utilize STEM; such as Questacon, Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex, and CSIRO.
I have had the opportunity to be involved in all stages of analysis from sample preparation, sample analysis, data processing and interpretation, and reporting as well as additional skills in instrument troubleshooting and maintenance.
The coolest thing about my job is working for the APS. It was a dream of mine to get into public service and do some good every day with my work. You get to learn about so many different areas. That feeling alone is incredibly rewarding and motivating.
The coolest thing about my job is getting to meet everyone across the department! I've had incredible opportunities to meet people in all kinds of areas, doing all kinds of interesting work. We even got to visit Questacon as a graduate cohort!
Without a doubt, the most fascinating aspect of my job is working on matters with national significance.
It’s incredibly rewarding working on or having responsibility for a project that may appear in the news or which is going to really benefit members of the Australian community.
